"New mothers need just as much support and attention as the newborn: Because they too have just been born"
A woman professionally trained in newborn care and postpartum health to support, educate, and care for a mother and family in the weeks and months following childbirth.
As your postpartum doula I will help ease the burdens of daily life so you can enjoy and bond with your baby. I provide breastfeeding support, emotional and physical support, and newborn care for baby. On those tiring days, I can snuggle with baby while you and your partner take a much needed nap. I perform household duties such as meal prep, folding laundry and washing dishes. I also provide you with endless resources and evidence based information. My goal is to restore peace in your household and empower your family to confidently transition into life with a new baby. Every woman deserves support, care and a judgement-free ear during those exciting, yet overwhelming days and weeks after having a baby!
Breastfeeding and general feeding support- As your postpartum doula, I will be by your side for any breastfeeding assistance you may need. I am trained to provide breastfeeding and general feeding support and education and I will provide you with evidence-based answers to all of your questions.
Postpartum support for mom- I am focused on the mother's healing, both emotionally and physically. I am a non-judgmental listening ear for some of those uncomfortable conversations. I'm trained in recognizing signs of postpartum depression and early postpartum warning signs to look out for. You want to talk, want to cry, want to sleep, need a snack? I'm your girl.
Provide resources and referrals- Whatever your need may be, I have a list of local resources from mental health counselors to pelvic floor therapists, massage therapists, support groups, lactation consultants, and more.
Household duties- The postpartum period is a time for you to rest, heal and bond with your baby. I help take care of those everyday chores, so you can relax and focus your attention on what is most important. Examples of household duties include: meal prep, grocery list planning, store runs, grocery order pick up, light tidying such as washing dishes, folding laundry, or running the vacuum.
Newborn care- As your postpartum doula, I will guide you through figuring out the specific needs for your baby and offering evidence based information that will equip you with all the confidence to care for your baby! I will happily tend to baby so you can nap, or I will provide late night support so you can start the night off well rested.
Family support- I am not only there for mother, but also to check in with partner/support person, and help with sibling adjustment. Every family has different needs and I am here to support you through that.
Postpartum planning- I provide education that prepares mamas for common physical changes that can take place after birth. Together, we will come up with a customized Postpartum Care Plan to start your new family off feeling confident and prepared.
